In addition, we offer in-house cytology evaluation for lumps and bumps, bodily fluids, and abnormal fluids in the chest and abdomen. Samples are collected depending on the location of the problem and what type of tissue is involved. Typically without general anesthesia and sometimes even without sedation. Collection methods include fine needle aspiration, impression smears, skin scrapings, and swabs.
