Adult Feline Preventative Care
The yearly exam is the most critical part of your pet’s health and condition. It allows us to examine your pet closely for problems that may be hidden from you. Cats are particularly excellent at hiding illness, and our staff are trained to help recognize changes. Preventive care exams can reveal conditions that, when found early, can be treated and managed efficiently, with less cost to you and less suffering for your fur child. Blood work screening and diagnostic testing establish baselines that allow our veterinarians to track results annually to ensure a long and healthy life for your fur family member. Since we all know your pets cannot talk, blood test results give your pets a voice.
Cats will live longer, better-quality lives with yearly veterinary care, EVEN IF they are indoor-only pets. The veterinarians at Rainbow City Pet Clinic will create a tailored vaccination plan based on your pet’s lifestyle. And for indoor cats, there may be limited vaccinations.
Our Adult Feline Preventive Care Exam Includes:
- LOTS of love and treats to make your visit Fear-Free and memorable for good experiences!

- If needed, screening for infectious disease will indicate whether your pet has been infected with feline leukemia virus (FeLV) or feline AIDS virus (FIV), the most common infectious disease in felines. It also indicates exposure to heartworms
- Diagnostic testing, including a blood chemistry profile and complete blood count, will provide information about your pet’s kidneys, liver, and pancreas, as well as other functions of the body. A complete blood count can identify infection, inflammation, and anemia
- A complete urinalysis, when possible, will assess the overall health of your pet’s urinary tract, including the kidneys and bladder. It identifies an infection or inflammation in the urinary tract
